Decorating Cookies with Alvin

Alex and his buddy from school, Alvin, decorated cookies together. I think more frosting went in their mouths than on the cookies!

"I Love Mommy"

Catching Up

I've been a little too busy to post lately..but here are some things we've been doing:

We celebrated Dia de Niño (Childrens' Day) on April 30th and the Sunday before. On Sunday we went to a Hi-5 concert and to a play place with lots of inflatables and ball pits and fun things to do. On the actual day, Alex had a party at school and broke a piñata. He and Santi both had lots fun. Santi is Hi-5's fan numero uno! He LOVES them! He calls the show Up High! He was very excited about seeing them (well they were really the Mexican counterparts, who were actually very good dancers and lip synchers :).

The fair also started on April 30th so we took Alex and Santi. Alex did the Euro Bungee again for the third year in a row! (That's saying a lot since he is only turning 4 in July!). He also went on a very high zip line. This kid definitely takes after his American uncles! He looked at the jumping off point (it was three stories up at least) and said, I want to do that. And we, his crazy parents, let him do it! He looked a little scared when he first started going, but then he saw us and was laughing the rest of the way.

Tio Eduardo was here for a week (from April 30th to May 6th). My boys love their Tio Waldo...he brought them cool cups and new pajamas direct from Spain.

Last week we bought a swimming pool, it's not too big but big enough for me to get in with the boys and cool off. It is SO hot here that it feels really nice to get in and splash. Santi and Alex both love splashing and sticking their faces in the water. We thought Santi didn't like to be in the water but we were wrong! He loves it.

Today we went to a special demonstration class at Alex's school. It was to show the parents what the children are doing. Alex was the most fidgety kid in his class! But he managed to do everything he was told, dancing the whole time and singing and making jokes! He is surely a kinesthetic learner. At the end the children sang a special mother's day song. It was too cute.
