That's how Alex sings the Old MacDonald song...I can't believe he sings it already but when I sing it with him, he sings "oh ee oh ee oh"! He is really growing so fast and learning so many new things everyday. He started saying NO today. Its so cute, he doesn't make a long o sound. It's a very subtle o, but he is definitely saying no :) I'm sure this will start becoming annoying when he starts telling us no in defiance, but for now it is SOOOO cute. He is a darling. He pushes his shopping cart all over the place, picking up random objects...headphones, a basketball, blocks, plastic spoons and anything else he can find.
He is definitely a Mexican tyke too...he loves rice and guisados. His abuelita makes him lentils with rice and he eats them up so fast. We haven't had so much luck with beans yet, although he did like the pork and beans he ate in the U.S. this summer...totally different thing altogether. You can't really compare sweet beans with black beans, but I'm sure he'll start eating them eventually...Oh, and he loves tortillas.
We are thinking about starting a gymboree class with him...maybe a playclass a few times a week. We just don't see too many children except on Sundays and that's only for an hour. I think he needs some socialization and I think at Gymboree they have climbing toys and things like that...I know I can take him to McDonald's just as easily, but the same kids won't be there everytime and I think it would be good for him to learn to play around the same kids every week or so.
I was just reading that the 15th month is a huge milestone in a baby's life...that they develop very quickly in this month and begin getting very independent. Since today he is 15 months old...we have a whole month to see if what I read is true. It seems to be already though, with just the things I saw him learn the past few days.
It has been wonderful to be able to go outside again... I never realized how blessed we are to have a nice backyard to play in until we had to sacrifice it for those four days. We have been spending a ton of time outside blowing dandelion fluffs and swinging and watching the butterflies and "playing ball". Thank God for the outdoors!
