In the past week Alex has gained 300 grams, which is almost a pound! Yeah. In baby weight, that is a lot. In adult weight, it's a couple of bowls of icecream..but anyhow... Alex is over his bronchitis and gaining weight. Even though he is still under on the charts, he is getting closer to "normal" in weight. He still needs to go up about 2-3 more pounds but we'll take it one day at a time. We literally spent the past week shoving food into his mouth anytime he wouldn't run away from us. I guess it worked.
Our doctor, Abel, is also a friend of ours. . . or I should say he is a friend of ours and that's why we chose him as our doctor. . . so every time we take Alex, we end up sitting and talking for an extra hour (Doctors appointments are WAY more laid back here and they will spend up to an hour with you at a checkup alone). The only time we don't stay and talk is if someone else is waiting for their appointment. Anyhow, as we sat chatting, Alex ran around the office, getting into everything. He pulled books off the shelves, pulled trash out of the bin, typed on the computer, threw down the mouse pad and dumped ALL the toys and puzzles onto the floor. So, Abel told us, even though he is a bit underweight, it is obvious that Alex is a normally developing little boy (hence the disaster he made of Abel's office)
